It was great to see so many friends and colleagues last week at the UPCEA National Conference in Boston. I was able to attend a lot of great sessions. Jessica DuPont and Jim Fong's session: Strategic Alignment of the CE Marketing Department was a standout. I was also able to introduce attendees to the theme for this year's Marketing Seminar: Stake Your Claim - Exploring and Expanding Your Role in the New Frontier of Marketing
1 Comment - Add to the mix the weekly calls I get informing me that someone has invited another fix-it-all vendor to campus and can I come...and I've got the perfect storm of reasons that this conference theme sounds like just what I need
The planning committee for the 2013 Marketing Seminar just wrapped up our in-person planning meeting at the Hyatt Regency in Austin, Texas (the location of the 2013 Marketing Seminar). I wanted to start a blog as part of my role as chair of the 2013 Marketing Seminar. My primary goal in doing so is to offer a window into the planning process for those who are interested
1 Comment - Very enlightening. I am a marketing professional new to the field of online education. I would love to know more about getting involved in planning these marketing conferences for the future!

UPCEA recently conducted a survey of members and found that one-in-five institutions have no enrollment management plan and 24% have disjointed processes. We've built marketing systems to attract new students, but are we really ready to serve them optimally? The UPCEA Center for Research and Consulting has conducted a number of CRM and marketing reviews and some of our organizations have failed (but many are also strong!)
(This briefing follows the AIEA conference.) Note: Given Putin's initiative to increase Russian university world rankings, there are opportunities for university collaboration
The Online Administration Network (OA) serves as a bridge between the administrative functions of online learning (marketing, online student services, program development, etc.) and the design of online learning
